Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

I had an extremely disappointing and concerning experience at Da Long Yi Hot Pot. Last Sunday evening, my friend and I came here for dinner. We ordered approximately $100 worth of meat, vegetables, and other hot pot items. During the meal, nothing seemed immediately unusual, and I want to be fair in saying that the servers themselves were polite and helpful. One of the dishes we originally ordered was unavailable, and the staff assisted us in replacing it with another item. From a service perspective, I did not have a major complaint. However, the food experience and what happened afterward were completely unacceptable. The following morning, both my friend and I began feeling unwell after eating the same meal. I experienced severe vomiting, fever, loss of appetite, weakness, and gastrointestinal discomfort. My symptoms were serious enough that I continued to have recurring fever for approximately two days and had difficulty eating normally. What makes this experience especially alarming to me is that both of us became sick after eating together at this restaurant. I have lived in New York for four years, and in my 22 years of life, I have never previously experienced food pois

Good hot pot. The broth was really salty though and seems to be slightly overpriced.

This restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet after 9 PM, and it’s a great deal πŸ’° β€” only $30 for unlimited meat, seafood, and main dishes, plus you can choose any broth you like 🍲 The meat is mostly frozen and the quality is average, but for the price, it’s really worth it πŸ‘ The buffet usually ends around 10:20 PM, making it perfect for a late dinner when you want to eat freely without spending too much. Definitely worth trying at least once ✨

This location is pretty standard. Portion was normal but prices slightly high. Servers were low-key and the restaurant was clean. Basically order what you like to go with the hotpot. Nothing went wrong!

Some of the best hot pot you’ll find in NYC - wish we came here sooner! The service is great and the food is very fresh. They have a lot of options to choose from when you’re creating your own sauce. The vibe inside is very nice and quite spacious. Looking forward to coming back again sometime soon!
